Installed bird fence to protect Little Tern nesting site on Elizabeth Island. The Little Terns are an endangered shorebird whose breeding season is during summer from about October to March. The recent Little Terns breeding season has been highly successful on Elizabeth Island. With a 400% increase in eggs recorded from the year before. In 2023/2024, 18 eggs were recorded. This breeding season (2024/2025), 43 Little Tern pairs nested at Elizabeth Island, laying 102 eggs.
